Earflaps Hat

Another hat made starting from the pdf I've talked about in this other post.
This is the no. 15, but as always I've made some changes to make it more personal. I've added a contrasting colour, earflaps and a flower on a side.
It was fun and quick to make, and I'm again in love with making hats thanks to this pdf!
Isn't it lovely?
The yarn is a mix of wool and cotton and it's so soft, and I like the colours as well.
Thanks for stopping by my blog, I hope you enjoy my creations!

Have fun!!
There are so many patterns in that pdf that you could make hats for months!

How are the flaps done? From looking at it, it seems that at one point you did six double crochets in one stitch and then double crochets in each of those double crochets. Is this correct?

You've got it right Adriane!
That's exactly what I did!!

Hi, I love your patterns, especially this lovely blue hat with ear flaps and flower. My little girl will just love it-in pink though! The problem is I can't find the PDF file with all the patterns on it. I've been in to Crochet Pattern Central and had a good look around but no joy. Can you help?

Sorry!

This is totally cute! I'm glad the pdf is working again so I can get started on this one!

Is there anyway you can write down the pattern for the earflaps for me? And where exactly did you start them at? Thanks so much. I'm hoping to make this before New Years, I'm going to somewhere VERY cold to visit my boyfriends family.

Hi Crowebaby,
unfurtunately I cannot tell you exactly how I did the earflaps as it was some time ago and I didn't write down the pattern for making them.
As I can remember they are done making six double crochets in one stitch and then two double crochets in each of those double crochets, and again a row of double crochet in each double crochet just made.
Make them on opposite sides of the hat for covering the ears!
To calculate where to make them just put on the hat and put a stitch marker or a pin where your ears are!!;)
I'm sorry, I hope you'll make it!
Ciao and happy new year,
Marta

I've finally found the PDF, but i think your version is very much its own interpretation, and is only inspired by the original pattern.
Could you possibly write out a pattern as i totally love this hat, ear flaps, flower and all. and i really want to make it look like yours. I dont know if i trust myself to interpret the pdf quite as artistically!
Its a beautiful hat. it really is.

Hi Pixieitch!
I swear I've completely followed the instructions of the pdf pattern.. I've only made some simple crochet rows as border in a contrasting color and then add the earflaps which I couldn't remember exactly how I did them..use your creativity and you're hat will be great!!
Ciao ciao!

Hi, I'm new to this and the only reason I set up an accout was to ask you about the Earflaps Hat. I've just started learning to crochet so i was looking for cool things i can crochet for myself. Can you please tell me where i can get the pattern for this hat?

I'd really appreciate it:] thanks

Hi, your patterns are so amazing, I've just started crocheting recently and you are such an inspiration. I was just wondering if you remember the brand of yarn that you used for this project and another one. I really love the multicoloured style, I've been trying to find it online but no such luck.

Beautiful hat. I loved it so much I made one myself, and added a pixie point to it.
