Hi girls, it's such a long time that I don't write on my blog!

I have to say that I miss it a little, even if I'm still receiving many comments on my free patterns and that's making me so happy every time.

I'm sorry if I'm not replying to all of them, but this is the first time since more than a year that I enter my blogger account, and really the first time by then that I have something new to show you.

This is a ribbed cowl made from this Lionbrand Free Pattern, very easy and fun to make. A piece made to start again with knitting..

I've been doing other stuff during this period, first of all learning how to use the sewing machine. Sometimes I need to learn something new and to make different things, and that's why I've quit chocheting and knitting for a while.

Can you see? I've also cut all my hair..it's the first time I have them so short!:) Many changes this year!

Now I feel I'm ready again to have hooks and needles in my heands, so I can say that probably some new free patterns are coming out...within this year hopefully!

I'm still trying to do some sewing stuff, but I'm a beginner with the sewing machine as I've always handsewed in the past. We'll see.

How about you?

I hope you had a great 2010, and I wish you an even greater 2011.

As you can see this is more a letter to my blog readers, instead of an usual blog post. It came out naturally while writing, as I feel you're like real friends to me. That's because of all your nice comments left here for me and your support and appreciation.

Diagonal Eyelet Hand Warmers Free Pattern

Let's start posting again some more interesting things!
And what else could I choose to be back with, other than a new pair of cute hand warmers?
Fall is arrived with lot of rain here in Rome, making my hands cold.
It has been such a hot summer, that I'm really happy to be able again to put on a chunky wool cardigan, drink warm tea and watch the rain falling over the window.
This pair of hand warmers are made with a diagonal eyelets and ribbing cuffs and tops, I hope you'll enjoy this new free pattern!
Here it is:

Materials:
One ball 100% Merinos wool extrafine (50g/135m), any DK weight yarn will work
4.00mm Straight Needles
5.00mm Straight Needles

Abbrevations:
k = knit
p = purl
yo = yarn over
k2tog = knit 2 stitches together
st/sts = stitch/stitches

Handwarmers (make two!):
Cuff's Ribbing:
Cast On 34 sts leaving a long tail for sewing handwarmer's cuff and part of body.
Row1: k2, *p2,k2* across
Row2: p2, *k2,p2* across
Row3-14: Repeat Row1 for odd rows and Row2 for even rows

Body:
Row 1: k4, *Yo, k2tog, k4*. Repeat from * across.
Row 2: Purl.
Row 3: k5, Yo, k2tog, *k4, Yo, k2tog*. Repeat from * to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 4: Purl.
Row5: k6, Yo, k2tog, *k4, Yo, k2tog*. Repeat from * to last 2 sts, k2.
Row6: Purl.
Row7: k1, Yo, k2tog, *k4, Yo, k2tog*. Repeat from * to last st, k1.
Row8: Purl.
Row9: k2, Yo, k2tog, *k4, Yo, k2tog*. Repeat from * across.
Row10: Purl.
Row11: k3, Yo, k2tog, *k4, Yo, k2tog*. Repeat from * to last 5 sts, k5
Row12: Purl.
Rows13-24: Repeat rows 1 to 12.

Top's ribbing:
Row1: k2, *p2,k2* across
Row2: p2, *k2,p2* across
Using a larger needle (5.00mm), Cast off sts loosely doing a ribbing Row1.
Cut yarn leaving a tail for sewing handwarmer's top.

Finishing:
Sew handwarmer's top for approximately 2.0cm and cuff and body for 8.5cm, leaving 3cm of body open for thumb.
Cut yarns and weave in all ends.
Sew some pretty buttons on the cuff's ribbing if you like and enjoy your new pair of handwarmers!

About my free patterns

Hello my dear followers!
This is a post on my free patterns, the past ones and all those that will come (soon, hopefully).
I've seen many people selling items made using my free patterns on their Etsy Shops.
Some of them asked me to do so, and some other not.
I want to say here my opinion on this issue:
I'm happy and have really no problem if you sell things made with my free patterns in your shops, my Creative Commons Licence say that you can use, share and even modify the pattern yourself; it also say that you can't sell it (the pattern itself), and that you have to attribute the work to the author.
As I told to everyone who asked me to sell items made with my original patterns, I'm glad that you enjoy them and also use them to make cute items to sell on your shops; I'm only asking to write in your blogs and your shops who is the author of the pattern you're using for your items...that's all!
I think this is a nice way to let me know that you appreciate my work, and I'd be so thankful for that!

Hi everyone!
I've finally found the time to write on my blog, just to say I'm still alive even if I'm not posting something new since December 2008..
I've felt like I had to explain to all my blog followers (342 while I'm writing), what it's going on.
I've started working in a B&B here in Rome, Mecenate Rooms, and I had really no time to write new free patterns to share. I'm still doing creative thing as you can see in my Etsy shop, and I'm showing here one of my latest necklaces.

I've also started to work with different materials, like chains and other metal stuff, but no way to find the time to write down patterns and fill my blog with new posts...
I'm sorry if I'm not able to answer to all the message I receive on my past free patterns, and I hope you'll understand.
Probably it will pass again a lot of time till I'll be able to write again on my blog, and I just wanted to say here that I'm very very happy that so many persons have enjoyed my creations and keep on following me.

Necktie with Bow free pattern

A girl named Melissa asked me to share the pattern for this necktie with bow and I'm very happy to do so!
Here you can see it in two different colors: black and white and brick orange.
The pattern it's very very easy:

Materials:
For the bow:
Scraps of wool in any color you like. (DK weight yarn)
4.00mm hook
For the chocker:
Scraps of wool in any color you like. (DK weight yarn)
5.50mm hook

Bow:
Ch20, hdc in third ch from hook, and in each ch across, turn.
Row 1: ch2, hdc in next st and in each across, turn.
Rows 2-5: repeat row1.
Cut yarn and weave in ends.
Bow centre:
Ch8, hdc in third ch from hook, and in each ch across.
Sew bow center around bow, gathering the middle of the bow and joining edges of bow centre.

Chocker:
Ch 54, dc in third chain from hook and in each chain across.
Cut yarn and wave in all ends.

Finishing:
Sew the bow on the fifth dc of one end of the chocker.
Sew a button on the third dc at the same extremity where the bow is, but on the other side.
Enjoy your new neck tie!

The White Flower Necklace

I'm finally back!
It has been too hot here in Rome even to think about working on something..
Moreover I've been on holiday for a while and wanted just to relax without doing anything!
Now, I've got something new for you:

A very dainty necklace made by three chains with leaves and a white flower, that closes by a crochet ring behind the flower through which pass the strands.
It was quite hard to explain it, but I hope you'll understand this pattern.
For any problem just contact me, and I'll be happy to help!
Here it is:

Materials:
4.00mm hook
Cream White Cotton yarn (worsted weight) for the flower
Green Cotton yarn (worsted weight) for the stems and ring

The Necklace:

Crochet Ring:
Wind the yarn 5 times around the left hand's forefinger and the middle finger.
Insert the hook under the 5 strands in the direction of the palm, yarn over hook and fasten the strands with a simple crochet stitch.
Work 24 sc in the ring made by the 5 strands.
Sl st to first sc to close ring.
Don't cut the yarn.

Three Stems with Leaves:
1st Stem: Chain 115.
Leaf: Sc in second chain from hook, 1hdc, 1dc, 1 hdc, 1sc. Turn and work 1sc, 1hdc, 1dc, 1hdc, 1sc in the opposite side of the just worked stitches. Sl st to first sc to close the leaf. Cut yarn and weave in end.
2nd Stem: Attach yarn on the sc of the ring that is next to the first stem chain. Chain 105.
Work as for the first leaf.
3rd Stem: Attach yarn on the sc of the ring that is next to the second stem chain. Chain 125.
Work as for the first leaf.

The Flower:
Bottom Layer:
Chain 3, sl st to make ring.
Chain 3 and work 11 dc in ring. Sl st to third chain of beginning ch3. (12dc)
*4dc in next dc, sc in next dc*. Repeat from * but ending with a sl st on last dc to close round.
Cut yarn and weave in end.
Top layer:
Chain 4, sl st to make ring.
*Chain 3 and sc in ring*, repeat from* four times more. Sl st to close round. (You'll have 5 petals)
Work in each chain loop of previous round: 1sc, 3dc, 1sc.
Cut yarn and weave in end.
Sew the two flower leyers together, the top layer on the bottom one, and sew a nice button on the center.

Finishing:
Sew the flower between the ring and the three stems chains, leaving a space in the ring through which you'll pass the three strands to fasten you necklace around your neck!

Lotus Flower Cuff

Do you remember the Flower applique I've made for my headband?
Well, with some changes on the pattern I've made a crochet cuff which is so cute, I think!
It's very simple, and it's one of the first times I'm using a crochet hook that it's smaller than the 4.00mm.
This is made by three Lotus Flower sewed together, and it closes by two beads.
Here's the pattern for this cute cuff:

Materials:
2.50mm hook
Super Fine Cotton yarn (Orange or any other summer color)

Lotus Flower (make three):
Ch 3, join to make ring with sl st.
Round 1: ch2 (count as hdc), 7 hdc in ring, sl st to second ch of beg. ch2. (8 hdc)
Round 2: ch2 (count ad hdc), hdc in same space as joining, *2hdc in next hdc*. Repeat from * around, sl st to second ch of beg. ch2. (16 hdc)
Round 3: *ch3, skip 1 hdc, sc in next hdc*. Repeat from * around ending with sl st to previous joining st. (8 ch loops)
Round 4: *3 dc in next ch3 loop, ch2, 3 dc in same ch3 loop, sc in next sc*. Repeat from * around, ending with sl st to previous joining st.
Each Flower should measure 5.00cm in diameter.

Finishing:
Sew two petals of each flower, with two other petals.
Sew two small beads or buttons on the two petals of one edge flower.
If it's not clear at the end you should have your cuff like this:

Now attach yarn in the ch2 space of one petal of the other edge from beads.
Ch 11, sl st on the 8th ch from hook, ch3 and sl st on the same ch2 space of the petal.
Work the same for the other petal opposite to the buttons.
Here it is!

Headband with Bow

These headbands are great for this period of the year!
Cute and stylish, you can make these in infinite ways.
Here's with a crochet bow sewed on a side.
This one is made only by two strands, so starting from this pattern you should end up with Row 1, skipping Row 2.
The bow is very simple to make, try with this one I've made for my puff stitch beret.

I'm impressed on how many different uses has this pattern!
Starting from the same concept I've done necklaces, headbands and now even a bracelet!
My husband says this looks like an octopus, and I agree with him..:)
This is made by nine same length crocheted strands, ending on both edges in simple crochet piece, one of them with two buttonholes.
I like it so much and I'm planning to make some more. These stuff are perfect for the summer days that are almost here!
Today in Rome is sooo warm!

Headband with Flower

Here's another headband made with my free pattern, to which I've added a rounded flower applique that makes it even more cute I think!
The Flower is made this way:

Ch 6, join to make ring with sl st.
Round 1: ch3 (count as dc), 15 dc in ring,sl st to third ch of beg. ch3. (16 dc)
Round 2: ch3 (count as dc), dc in same space as joining, *2dc in next dc*. Repeat from * around, sl st to third ch of beg. ch3. (32 dc)
Round 3: *ch4, skip next 2 dc, sc in next dc*. Repeat from * around ending with sl st to previous joining st.
Round 4: *7 dc in next ch4 space, sc in next sc*. Repeat from * around, ending with sl st to previous joining st.

Simple Crochet Headband

This headband is so easy to make, and the pattern is almost the same as the necklace one.
I love the hippie style, and this is perfect for spring and summer times!
I write here the pattern for this super easy headband:

Materials:
4.00mm hook
Any Colour Cotton yarn (worsted weight)

Headband:
Ch141
Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in the next 29chs (30sc), ch80, sc in the 30th ch from the begin of previous ch loop, and in next 29chs, ch1, turn.
Row 2: Sc in first sc and in next 29 sc, ch 80, sc in the 30sc of the previous row.
Cut yarn and weave in all ends...that's all!
Enjoy your stylish headband!
You can even make it with two or three different colors, by changing it at each end of row.

Puff Stitches and Bow Beret

This pdf is really amazing!
Since now I've made three berets starting from that file, and each one is so lovely and easy to make..
As usual I've added my personal touch to the pattern, and most of all a tiny little bow on a side, which I love to put on my berets.

Knit/Crochet Handwarmers

My passion for handwarmers is not finished.
I had some yarn left from this hat, and I've started making another pair immediately!!
I wrote down the pattern for these cute cute handwarmers once they were finished, but as they are quite easy to make, it should be correct..but feel free to write me for any question.
Here it is:

Materials:
One ball Tropical Lane "Cin Cin" (75% Merinos, 5% Cotton, 20% Dralon) (50g/125m)
A: mustard yellow
B: white
C: brown

4.00mm Straight Needles
5.00mm Straight Needles
4.00mm hook

Gauge:
10sts*16rows = 5*5cm in Stockinette st

Abbrevations:
For knitting cuffs:
k = knit
p = purl
st/sts = stitch/stitches
For crochet body and top:
ch = chain
sc = simple crochet
sl st = slip stitch
hdc = half double crochet

Notes:
picot = ch 3, sl st in front loop of 3rd ch from hook

Knitted Cuffs (make two!):
With color A and 4.00mm needles cast on 32 sts.
Rows1-12: *k2,p2* across
With 5.00mm needle, bind off all sts.
Sew together the edges of each cuff, and don't cut the yarn.

With 4.00mm hook, work a round of sc in each stitch of top's cuff and sl st to join (32 sc).

Crochet left handwarmer:
Attach color B.
Round 1-9: ch2, work hdc around, sl st to first hdc to join the round.
Round 10: ch2, hdc in next 4 hdc, ch6, leave next 6 hdc unworked, and work hdc in each of next hdc around, sl st to join round.
Round 11-12: repeat round 1.
Attach color C.
Round 13: ch1, sc in each st around and sl st to join round.
Round 14: ch1, *sc in next 4 sts, work a picot*. Repeat from * around to complete the handwarmer top edge and sl st to first sc of round to join.
Cut yarn and weave in all ends.

Crochet right handwarmer:
Work as for left one until round 9.
Round 10: ch2, hdc in each hdc around until last 6 sts, leave next 6 hdc unworked, ch6, and join with sl st to top of beg. ch2.
Work remaining rounds of handwarmer as for the left one.

Tiny bow:
Ch 8, hdc in third ch from hook and in each st across.
Ch2, turn, work hdc in each hdc.
Cut yarn and weave in ends.
With a large eye needle, attach yarn to centre of bow and wrap the yarn around, gathering the middle of the bow.
Fasten yarn centre of bow and sew in on the handwarmer where you like!

Enjoy them!

Huge Flower Applique Hat

Here's another hat for my shop, made with brown, gold and white mix of wool and cotton yarn and embellished by a huge flower circle applique!
There's no pattern for this because I use to work by sudden inspiration and this one was made yesterday while watching television!
I post it anyway, always hoping that you can find some ideas here for your crafty works.
As usual you can contact me for any question and for helps on making something similar to this.
I think this is so romantic, and I'm planning to make more hats with this flower detail.

Same pattern, different look!

Here's another "crochet necklace" based on the same pattern, but with more and longer strands.
This time the flower looks more like a rose or a poppy and it's fixed to a brooch pin on the back, so you can have it on or off the necklace!
This pattern is really easy, but so versatile. You can change the number of strands or their lenght, and the result is always great and different.

Earflaps Hat

Another hat made starting from the pdf I've talked about in this other post.
This is the no. 15, but as always I've made some changes to make it more personal. I've added a contrasting colour, earflaps and a flower on a side.
It was fun and quick to make, and I'm again in love with making hats thanks to this pdf!
Isn't it lovely?
The yarn is a mix of wool and cotton and it's so soft, and I like the colours as well.

I've found this pdf to download at Crochet Pattern Central website.
I'm in love with vintage style hats, and this pdf is really amazing.
It has thirty-six hat patterns to make, and the first I've tried is the no. 27.
I've made some modifications to have it more like a beret than a beanie, here there are if you want it like mine:
Follow the pattern till Rnd 6.
Rnd 7: Ch 14, *dc in next dc, ch 11*. Repeat from * around, sl st to third ch of ch 14.
Rnd 8: Ch 16, *dc in next dc, ch 13*. Repeat from * around, sl st to third ch of ch 16.
Rnd 9: Repeat Rnd 8.
Rnd 10: Repeat Rnd 7.
Rnd 11: Repeat Rnd 6.
Rnd 12: Repeat Rnd 5.
Rnd 13: Ch 3, 5 dc in ch space, *dc in next dc, 5 dc in ch space*. Repeat from * around, sl st to join.
Rnd 14: sc in same st as joining,*skip 2 dc, 5dc in next dc, skip 2 dc, sc in next dc*. Repeat from * around, ending with a sl st in first sc of round.
I've added a flower on a side with a mother of pearl button in the centre..it gives a more stylish touch!

Free Pattern's Outline for a Crochet Necklace

Well, this is quite different from the "Easiest Crochet Necklace" I've shown in the other post, and I've tried to write down an outline of this one's pattern.
For any question just contact me.. I know that probably this is not so clear!
Anyway, here it is:

Materials:
Less than one ball of any colour cotton yarn (worsted weight)
4.00mm hook

Necklace:
Ch77, sc in second ch from hook and in the next 3chs.
Ch76, sc in the 4th ch at the beg of previous ch loop, and in next 3chs, ch1, turn.
Sc in first sc and in next 3 sc, ch80, sc in the 4 sc at the beg of previous row, ch1, turn.
Sc in first sc and in next 3 sc, ch84, sc in the 4 sc at the beg of previous row, ch3 and sl st on the other side of the same closure piece to make a button hole.
Sew a button on the opposite closure piece of the button hole.
Make a flower of any kind (mines are just improvised!) to embellish the necklace, and sew it on the four chains strands.

I've made it even in a bright purple cotton yarn, and I'm really happy with the both.

These are very easy, and I hope you won't have problems making them.

Giant Granny Bag

Another last year's project made with a beautiful cotton yarn.
I love this bag, especially for the colours which are really bright. I've used this Groovy Crochet' s pattern, but if you know how to make granny squares you won't need any. This is super easy!
Great market and beach bag, I didn't lined it inside, but you can do it if you prefer.

Lion Brand Half Moon Shawl

I've made this shawl as a custom order to match the beret with antique rose applique in the picture below.
The pattern is the Lion Brand "Half Moon Shawl" that everyone has done, but I've added some fringe.
I've made one for me as well in the same color, and I'm really in love with it!
The beret is made from my free "Soft tam beret" pattern, to which I've added a simple crochet contrasting color border and a simple rounded applique.

I think the both are nice, and I love them together..well, I'm proud of my creations!
And I can't stop working with my hooks and needles!!

Crochet Garnstudio Tunic Dress

This Garnstudio tunic dress is wonderful!
I've made it last year and finally I've got the inspiration to take some pictures and show it..
I've used the "DROPS tunic with mussel pattern", an easy but quite long pattern, and a beautiful bright purple cotton yarn.

I'm very happy on how it came out and I sell it on my Etsy shop with a hight price because otherwise I'd love to keep it for myself! :)

I really suggest to try this pattern, it takes some time but the result is lovely!

Others Last Year's Spring Projects

Here's two others no-pattern projects I've made last year..
They're all made with a beautiful bright cotton yarn in different colours.
The first is a lace wrap vest, crocheted with a 4.00mm hook and closed by a small belt (more pics on my Etsy).It tooks some time to make this because of the lace pattern and the three pieces, fronts and back, that I've worked separately.

This other one is a striped top with belt (again more pics here), which was easier to make:
I've started with the sc top of which the ends are sewed together on the back, and then I've worked the rest of the body in rounds from top down, simply increasing some st and changing colour in stripes.
I've added a sc small belt that you can put at the waist's height you prefer!
I like very much how they've came out, and most of all because they're the first projects I've ever made.

Cute Tie-Front Shrug

Here's another last year's creation of which I haven't got a pattern, because it was a sudden inspiration that kept me working with my hook and yarn without rest!
I'm sorry, I would love to share this really cute pattern...
Anyway it's not a very difficoult pattern, and you can try to make it yourself: with 4.00mm hook, start working in one piece from the bottom up, making a ch long enough to wrap around your bust, plus about 40 chs more on each side for the tie. Work in dc across for two rows and then start the body piece, leaving the tie's stitches unworked.

You should work with this motif on the entire body, decreasing a dc on each side (neck shape), until you've reached the armholes. Here you should divide back piece from the two front pieces.
On each front piece continue decreasing at neck sides and start decreasing even at shoulders for some rows. On the back piece, just decrease the same number of stitches you've done for the shoulder's sides of the front pieces.
I don't know how I've made those pretty puff sleeves, maybe it was the fortune of the beginner!!
I'm sure that you can improvise as I did, and make it right!

Another super easy Crochet Necklace

As I've sold this other one in few days, I've decided to make another crochet necklace but in another color.
This one is in a very bright purple cotton yarn and it's made with the same technique as the other, except that I've made three crocheted strands in different lenght, knotted together at the ends.
Same improvised flower, with a button in the center.
I love these necklace, and they are the easiest thing I've ever made!

Scaldacuore (Heart-warmer)

This is a pink cotton shrug I've made last year and of which I couldn't make pictures before. It's one of a series of garments which I've kept it in the wardrobe for an year waiting to make some nice pics!
They're all spring time clothes.
I haven't write down the patterns of all this stuff, but i like to show them hoping they will be of inspiration for crafters who are passing by my blog!
This shrug is made from bottom up in one piece until the armholes, then I've worked separately back and front pieces.
It has 8 rows of continuous dc stitches, and then an openwork dc and ch1 pattern for the higher part of the body.
I think this is really cute, and I hope you'll enjoy it too!

Garnstudio Neck With Buttons

I've made this Neck some months ago, and I sell it on my Etsy.
Finally I've done a nice picture that I'm not ashamed to post on my blog, and I can show it with the link to the Garnstudio's free pattern!
I think that's pretty nice..
The pattern is easy and it's made with 8mm needles, which makes the work fast and confortable!
My Neck has came out a little more long than the original, but I like it because this way it's also a shoulder warmer.

Puff Stitch Crochet Beret with Bow

A new crocheted beret, made with a Puff stitch pattern and embellished by a bow on a side!
I think this is sooo cute, and the Merino wool makes it very soft and cozy.
The pattern is simple, not so quick because of the Puff stitch, but not even too long...

Two ball 100% Merinos wool extrafine (50g/135m), Red. (DK weight yarn)

Crochet Openwork Handwarmers

There was some Denim Blue yarn remaining from my "Inverness Diamonds Knitted Hanwarmers", and I've immediately used it for this new pair.
These are crocheted with an openwork stitch pattern and have scalloped edges.
They're just perfect for middle seasons..
Extremely easy, maybe it's the best pattern for people who wants to start crocheting!
Aren't they cute?
Here's my free pattern:

Terms:
ch = chain
dc = double crochet
hdc= half double crochet
sl st = slip stitch
sk = skip

Gauge: "3dc, ch2" twice * 5rows = 5 * 5,5cm

Size: adult woman

Materials: 1 ball Tropical Lane "Cin Cin" (75% Merinos, 5% Cotton, 20% Dralon) (50g/125m)
(any worsted weight yarn)
4.00mm hook

Handwarmer's cuff:
Ch 35, sl st to form ring, careful not to twist the ch.
Round 1: ch3, dc in next 2 ch, ch1, sk 2ch, * 3dc in next 3ch, ch1, sk 2ch*. Repeat from* across ending round with ch1 and sl st in third ch og beg. ch3.
Round 2: ch4 (counts as 1dc and ch1), *3dc in next ch1 space, ch1*, repeat from* across to last ch1 space, 2dc in space and sl st in third ch of beg. ch3.
Round 3: ch3, 2dc in ch1 space, ch1, *3dc in next ch1 space, ch1*. Repeat from * across, ending with ch1 and sl st in third ch of beg. ch3.
Round 4: repeat round 2.
Round 5: repeat round 3.
FROM HERE ON make 2ch between each 3dc group instead of 1ch (that means that you make 5ch instead of 4ch at the beginning of each round 2).
Continue working rows 2 and 3 until the point where you'll make the thumb hole.(I've made a total of 11 rows from cuff's bottom to thumb hole), ending with a row 3.

Thumb hole:
Row 1: Sl st in each ofthe next 2 dc and in 1 ch of first ch2 space of previous round.
Ch3, 2dc in same ch2 space, *ch2, 3dc in next space*.Repeat from * across until the last ch2 space of previous round, 1dc in space, ch3, turn.
Row 2: 2dc in ch1 space, ch2, *3dc in next ch2 space, ch2*. Repeat from * across, ending with ch2 and 1dc in third ch of beg ch3 of previous row.
Closing thumb hole: ch5 ,sl st to third ch of beg ch3 of last row, turn.
Top Round: Ch3, 2dc in ch5 space, ch2, skip dc, 3dc in next space.,*ch2, 3dc in next space*. Repeat from * across, ending with ch2 and sl st in third ch of beg. ch3.

Easiest Crochet Necklace Ever!

Another necklace, in a cream white cotton yarn, embellished by a flower brooch.
This is so versatile.. It's long and opened at the ends, so that it can be used even as a skinny belt on a summer dress.
I've tried it as an headband, rolled three times around, and it looks great!
I really like it..
I made it by chaining three strands of yarn with a 5.50mm hook. You can make it as long as you desire!
The flower is improvised, but any flower pattern is fine!
Sooo easy...beautiful result!

Inverness Diamonds Knitted Handwarmers

It seems I can't stop making handwarmers..
These are knitted with a Denim blue mix of Merinos and cotton yarn, flecked with bits of yellow, red and white.
Simple and beautiful, embellished by an Inverness Diamonds pattern on the backs.

It's a Wrap Shawl!

I've always wanted to make a crocheted shawl for myself, and finally, after some weeks of hard work, i've done it!
I've followed the "It's a Wrap" pattern, just making less rows and fringe.
I adore it, it's so cozy and warm.
Here you can see the stitches pattern:

I can say it was very easy to make, but it takes some time, especially for the last rows which seems to have no end!
Anyway, a great easy pattern and a great shawl!

No-Knit but Knot Scarf

I love this scarf!
The pattern is the No-Knit Scarf from Martha Stewart, and it was so easy to make..with a great result i think!
I put on my Black and Silver flower brooch, which is made with the same yarn, and i think it gives a more stylish touch.
I recommend this pattern, quick and beautiful!

Emerald Green Handwarmers

I know, i'm obsessed by handwarmers..but i really love them!
These are in a beautiful emerald green Merinos extrafine wool, soft and cozy.
The pattern? A sudden inspiration, that i've obviously wrote down to share..every girl should have a pair of this!

Materials:
One ball 100% Merinos wool extrafine (50g/135m) Emerald Green
4.00mm Straight Needles

Abbreviations:
k = knit
p = purl
st/sts = stitch/stitches

Moss stitch:
Row1: *k1,p1*
Row2: *p1,k1*

Stockinette stitch:
Row1: knit across
Row2: purl across

Double Moss stitch:
Row1-2: *k1,p1*
Row3-4: *p1,k1*

Handwarmers (make two!):
Cast on 34 sts.
Work in Moss st for 3 Rows.
Work in Stockinette st for 12 Rows (you should end up with a purl row).
Start with Double Moss stitch, and repeat the pattern rows 6 times, ending with row4.
Work 4 Rows in Stockinette st and then 3 more rows in Moss st.
Bind off loosely in Moss st using a 5.00mm needle.

Finishing:
Fold in half the piece and sew sides:
from top down 2cm.
from bottom up 8cm
leaving 3,5cm open for thumb hole.

You have some nice yarn's scraps and you don't know what to do with it?
The answer is: Roses!
I use all the scraps from my bigger projects for these beautiful little ones, you can make them in different measures and different colors, and the result is always great.
I love to sew a brooch pin and have them on coats and jackets, put some nice small beads on them and sometimes sew a pendant.
I've used the Lionbrand pattern "Crocheted Rosettes/Flowers" for these..

A friend asked me for the pattern of the Cherry Red Handwarmers, and as I looove to share creativity with others, and as I've learned to knit and crochet thanks to Internet's crafty community, I've wrote it immediately!
It's very easy, but if you have problems with it just send me an e-mail!

Materials:
One ball 100% Merinos wool extrafine (50g/135m)
4.00mm Straight Needles

Abbrevations:
k = knit
p = purl
yo = yarn over
k2tog = knit 2 sts together
st/sts = stitch/stitches
skp = slip 1, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over

Handwarmers (make two!):
Cuff's Ribbing:
Cast On 32 sts leaving a long tail for sewing handwarmer's cuff and part of body.
Row1: *k2,p2* across
Row2-11: Repeat Row1.

Body:
Row 1: k1, *Yo, k2tog; rep from * to last st, k1.
Row 2: Purl.
Row 3: k1, *SKP (), yo; rep from * to last st, k1.
Row 4: Purl.
Repeat Rows 1-4 a total of 10 times or for the desired lenght, ending with a Row4.

Top's ribbing:
Row1: *k2,p2* across
Row2-6: Repeat Row1.
Using a larger needle (5.00mm), Cast off sts loosely.
Cut yarn leaving a tail for sewing handwarmer's top.

Finishing:
Sew handwarmer's top for approximately 2.5cm and cuff and body for 10cm, leaving 3cm of body open for thumb.
Cut yarns and weave in all ends.
Sew some pretty buttons on the cuff's ribbing if you like and enjoy your new pair of handwarmers!

Cherry Red Handwarmers

Have I told you that i'm in love with handwarmers in this period?
Oh yes, I really do!
I'm creating new designs for having my hands always warm, because here in Rome is quite freezing these days..
These are knitted with the Mesh Pattern that you can find on Lionbrand's Stitch Finder, and with a 2*2 rib borders.
I found in my mother's trinkets box those cute little wooden flower buttons that are probably coming from some of my grandma's old shirts. Aren't they lovely?
I adore them!

I'm making lots of them in any color, knitted or crocheted.
These in the pictures are all crocheted with a green mohair yarn that remains from the Eyelet Vest i've made last month.
They are so quick to make, on the contrary of the knitted ones; but maybe it depends on my predisposition to crochet!

Eyelet Vest

Do you remember the "New sweater in progress" post?
Well, the sweater has become a vest, and it will probably be my mother's Christmas gift!
You know, Christmas is really close now and there are many presents i still have to do, so i didn't had time to make sleeves!!
I think it's nice anyway, i love the color and the eyelet pattern, and it fits perfectly.
Here's another picture of the eyelet's detail:

Of course i've wrote down the patter, and because it turned out as a vest, i just had to leave out the sleeves's part.
I don't know if someone will find it useful, it is really simple and nothing special as it's my first knitting project, but i love to share my creativity with others, so here's my Eyelet Vest pattern:

Materials:
Mohair (40% mohair, 60% dralon)
6mm straight needles

Size:
Adult small.
Finished chest circumference: 78cm (30.7inches)
Total lenght: 49cm (19.3 inches)

Back:
Cast on 60 st using 6mm straight needles.
Rib: *k2,p2* for 11 rows.
Knit next row.
Purl next row.

Eylet pattern's rows:
Row 1: k2, *yfwd, k2tog, k2* rep from * to last 2 sts, k2.
Row 2: purl.
Row 3: knit.
Row 4: purl.
Row 5: K4, *yfwd, k2tog, k2* rep from * to last 2 sts, k2.
Row 6: purl.
Row 7: knit.
Row 8: purl.
Continue with eylet pattern's rows (i've repeat them 9 times), until the piece misures approximately 35cm, or the desired lenght to armholes, ending with a Row 6.

Armhole shaping:
Bind off 4 sts at the beginning of the next row, knit the remaining sts.
Bind off 4 sts at the beginning of the next row, purl the remaining sts.
K2tog,k 4 sts, yfwd, k2tog, *k2, yfwd, k2tog*, rep from * to last 4 sts, k2, k2tog.
Purl next row.
K2tog, knit across to last 2 sts, K2tog.
Purl next row.
Repeat Pattern Rows 1 to 8, until the armholes misures approximately 15cm from Bo rows

Front:
Same as back until the point where you want the V neck opening starts (i've repeated pattern's rows 8 times ),ending with a row 5 .
Purl to the halfway point (30 sts), attach a second ball.
Dec one st on each neck edge of next row, and on every other odd rows, until there are 12 sts each front shoulder piece. AT THE SAME TIME, repeat armhole shaping as for back when the piece misures 35cm or the lenght you've done for back.
Continue in pattern rows until the front piece misures as back.
Bind off all sts.

Finishing:
Sew shoulders and side seams.Weave in all ends.

So busy these days..

Christmas is coming and i'm making gifts to all my nephews and parents.
It really takes much time and work..but it's worth!
The little amigurumi in the picture is a present for my three year old nephew who's so in love with any kind of boat. It's stuffed inside and it's really soft, i hope he'll like it!
Maybe someday i'll write the pattern if someone is interested..
I've discovered how wonderful is making amigurumis, and everyday i'm more and more in love with crafting!

New sweater in progress

I'm working on a new project.
I've bought this green mohair yarn and started drawing down sketches for a sweater. I'm in love with eyelets, and so I've decided that my sweater will have them!

I had this cashmere purple yarn since months, and didn't know what to do with it!
Finally yesterday i had a flash of inspiration, and started making this Cowl neck capelet after drawing down a sketch of what i was imagining.
And voila'! I think it's beautiful, and i'm not sure i want to sell it on my Etsy shop..i think i'll keep it for myself.
It was easy to make, starting from cowl down, so i decided to write the pattern.
Here it is.

Terms:
ch = chain
dc = double crochet
sl st = slip stitch
sk = skip

Gauge:
two *3dc,ch2*= 11.5cm * 4 rows=10cm

Materials:
8.00 mm hook
Ornaghi Filati Italy "Cashmere" [60% Merino Wool Superfine, 30% Polyamid, 10% Cashmere; 41 yds/37 mt per 50g ball]; color: Purple; 4 balls.

Ch 40, sl st to form ring, careful not to twist the ch.

I've made another beret for my Etsy shop. It is the first time that i've used mohair yarn, and i've adored it even if it was a bit hard to work with it.
I've started with this pattern from Coats and Clarks, but then i had to change half of it to make my beret looks nicer..it was becoming too large!
If someone is trying the pattern and have problems with dimensions, just contact me and i'll send you my modifications.
I really love the colors, they are like autumn's leaves or like the sky at sunset, and mohair is so soft! I've used the same yarn for a crocheted fringed scarf that i'll post as soon as i make some nice pictures..it's so cloudy here these days.

I've found a little error on the Tam beret pattern i've posted below..
On the Rnd. 7 , you should:
ch 3, 3 dc, dc2tog.,*4 dc, dc2tog.*, repeat from * around, joining to beg. ch3.
I write it even if i didn't received any comment on this pattern and i don't know if someone is interested!
I've already sold two of them on Etsy, and i'm really happy because they are the first selling i've made.
It's a great feeling to know that there's someone who appreciate what you do, and that maybe sometimes they take a walk wearing the little handiworks you've made with love and passion.

Here's a new tam beret i've made some days ago. I love to crochet berets and i've made many of them for friends and parents. They are easy and quick to make, perfect for a last minute present!
I sell this one on my Etsy shop, but i like to share my patterns so, if you prefer, you can make your own one and give it to a special friend. I'm definitely for homemade gifts!
So here's the easy pattern:

Terms:
ch = chain
dc = double crochet
dc2tog = work 2 double crochet together
sc = simple crochet
sl st = slip stitch

Gauge: 8dc*10rows = 10*10cm
I used 8.00 mm hook and 100 gr.soft pink bulky yarn.
At the end of each round join with a sl st in 3rd ch of beg. ch 3.

Beret:
Ch 3, join with sl st to form ring.
Rnd 1: ch 3 (count as dc), make 11 dc in ring.(12 dc)
Rnd 2: ch 3, 2 dc in each dc.(24 dc)
Rnd 3: ch 3, 2 dc in the same joining dc,*ch 2, skip 1 ch, 3 dc in next dc*, repeat from * around, ending with ch 2 and joining to first dc group.(12 dc group)
Rnd 4: ch 3, turn, 2 dc in next ch 2 space,*ch 2, 3 dc in next ch 2 space*, repeat from * around, ending with ch 2 and joining to first dc group.(12 dc group)
Rnd 5: repeat Rnd 4.
Rnd 6: ch 3, 1 dc in each next 2 dc,*1 dc in next ch 2 space, 3 dc in next 3 dc*, repeat from * around ending with 1 dc in last ch 2 space and joining to first dc.
Rnd 7: ch 3, 3 dc, dc2tog.,*4 dc, dc2tog.*, repeat from * around, joining to beg. ch3.
Rnd 8: ch 3, 2 dc, dc2tog.,*3 dc, dc2tog.*, repeat from * around, joining to beg. ch3.
Rnd 9: sc around, join with sl st to last sc.
Fasten off and weave in all ends.

Father-in-law's tie

I've just married an incredible man. We've been living together for almost four years now, and we share our ideas and interest with love. The day before our wedding was the birthday of his parents..yes, they're born on the same day! They are very sweet persons and, as last year i've made a beret for her, this year i'm trying to make a tie for him. The pattern is the "knit necktie" from Lionbrand.
I've started crocheting and knitting to make gifts for the people i love, and this has been a great inspiration to me. I've enjoyed it so much, that now it is one of my favorite occupation, and i'm always thinking about new stuff i could make, drawing down sketches of my ideas.
I also think that it is a good psychological exercise, it brings you in a quiet and relaxing state of mind, which is really hard to be in this frantic and chaotic society.

Free Snowflake sweater pattern

Here's my first free pattern!
I've started crocheting almost two years ago, and i've adored it immediately.
This is one of my first designs and i'm really proud of it!
I sell the Snowflake sweater on my Etsy shop , but you can make your own with this free pattern. I hope it came out well, as it is the first pattern i've ever tried to write down!
Here it is:

TERMS: ch = chain
sc = simple crochet
hdc = half double crochet
blo = back-loop only
flo = front-loop only
sc2tog = simple crochet 2 chain together

I used 4.00 mm hook and 250-300 gr. fine weight yarn.

BACK:
Ribbing:
Ch 21.
Sc in the second ch from hook and across, ch 1, turn.
Sc every row working in blo until the piece misure 42cm.
After the last row don't brake off, but turn the hook for working on the long side of the ribbing.
Ch 1, work 44 sc on the long side, ch 2, turn.
Body:
Row one: work one hdc in the first ch and across, ch 2, turn.
Repeat row one until the body piece misures 40cm.

FRONT:
Ribbing:
work the same as back.
Left Side:
Row one: Hdc in 30 ch in flo, ch 1, turn.
Row two: work two hdc together, and one hdc in every ch, ch 2, turn.
Row three: hdc in each ch across, ch 1, turn.
Repeat rows two and three until the piece misure 40cm, as the back piece.
Right side:
Row one: hdc in blo 14 ch, and hdc in flo (behind the left front piece) 16 ch, ch 1, turn.
Row two: work two hdc together, and one hdc in every ch, ch 2, turn.
Row three: hdc in each ch across, ch 1, turn.
Repeat rows two and three until the piece misure 40cm, as the back piece.

SLEEVES (make two):
Ribbing:
Row one: ch 4, sc in second chain from hook and in the next two ch, ch 1, turn.
Row two: sc in blo each sc, ch 1, turn.
Repeat row two until the piece misure 26cm.
After the last row don't brake off, but turn the hook for working on the long side of the ribbing.
Shoulder:
Row one: ch 2, make two hdc in each ch 1 space, one hdc in the last space (for a total of 32 hdc,counting the first ch 2 as an hdc), turn.
Row two: ch 2, hdc in each hdc, ch 1, turn.
Rows three: 1 sc in the first hdc, sc2tog, one hdc in each hdc until the last 3 hdc, sc2tog, one sc in the last hdc, ch 1, turn.
Repeat row three until the sleeve misure 15cm (including the ribbing).

FINISHING:
Sew underarm and shoulder edges, sew sleeve's top around armholes and the edges of the sleeve's ribbing together.
